If Drew Lynch has the courage to try, why can’t you?

Former softball player Drew Lynch got a sports injury when he got hit in his throat during a softball game. The ball took on a funny hop hitting him in his throat which damaged some nerves in his vocal cords. Drew used to be a jock who thought he was better than everybody else. He said he was nothing but a jerk before. The accident changed his life. His girlfriend Veronica suggested him to talk about his problem and frustration on stage, and he’s been doing that for four years already in the form of comedy. He says the comedy helps him coping with his condition.

Drew LynchBut how much do comedians make? Truth is…..if you’re not famous, you don’t make squat. So his girlfriend had to take on three different jobs, so Drew could pursue his career as a comedian. This is proof that you can be whatever you want to be, and that there are really good women out there. I consider myself lucky enough to see him. Drew’s goal is to inspire people, and to show them that you can turn any negative into a positive.

Do you know how hard it is to make it as a comedian in the United States? I’m not saying it’s not impossible, but it’s damn hard. And Drew is trying to make it with a stuttering problem. Now that’s not talent or anything. It’s just courage. He knows that he may or may not make it, but at least he’s trying, which is something many of us are too afraid to do.

What touches me more is how Howie Mandel, who is also a comedian with an OCD problem (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), supports this guy. Howie Mandel as a judge in America’s Got Talent genuinely supports any comedian who tries their luck in America’s Got Talent. And that’s why I truly respect him as a person. But what Howie Mandel said to Drew in his 2nd appearance really moved me: “You are triumph in the face of adversity, you are a symbol, you are an inspiration, and you are hilarious. I wish I could be as good as you.”

So here you have this well-known famous comedian telling an unknown comedian that he wishes he could be as good as him. If this isn’t humbleness, then I don’t know what is. Howie Mandel is a comedian who made it with an OCD problem. He knows how hard it is to be a comedian. He acknowledges that comedy usually comes from a very dark place and that he uses comedy as a way to find happiness in himself. I do it myself too. I wish I could be as good both of them.

Maybe you think I’m wrote this to inspire and motivate you. I did, but I’m actually talking to myself…..out loud…..kinda. It may sound creepy and crazy, but……who cares!
